Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement issued at the time of booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines the specific terms, conditions, insurance coverage, charges, and your obligations related to the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle in Leicestershire, you must be a minimum of 21 years old, although some vehicles may have different age requirements, with extra fees for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence for the specific vehicle category is required, held for the duration stated in the Rental Agreement. You must also present valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment details and a security deposit are necessary. Be sure to meet any additional conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Leicestershire office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The total payment and security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pick-up. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. Major credit and debit cards are accepted, processed securely through trusted payment systems.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document this. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same level of fuel as at collection; refueling charges will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may incur extra charges, so please inform us promptly if you expect to return the vehicle late. You will be responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges that occur during the rental period, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Overview
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Detailed coverage information and excess amounts will be outlined in your Rental Agreement. Options for additional insurance may be available to help minimize your financial liability, and we encourage you to review these closely. You will be liable for damages or loss up to the excess amount, unless further insurance is obtained. Damage arising from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
6. Modifications and Cancellations
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show up may incur additional charges.
Prohibited Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for any illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or other risky behaviours is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials is strictly forbidden. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is not permitted. Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purposes, and drivers must adhere to established passenger and weight limits. Operating the vehicle outside the agreed geographical boundaries without prior approval is not acceptable.
Breaching these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Restrictions
To the fullest extent allowed under English and Welsh law, Car Hire in Leicestershire is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the rental amount paid in the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence, or for fraudulent activities.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates will take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
